Is corn oil good for you? Nutrition & advantages

Corn oil has a wide range of uses, in and out of the kitchen - but it is best known as a frying oil. With a high smoke point of around 450°F (232°C), it can deep-fry to perfection without burning.

What is in corn oil

According to the USDA, monounsaturated fats (MUFAs) make up over a quarter of the fat in corn oil - nearly 4g per tablespoon. The American Heart Association notes that MUFAs help lower LDL, the harmful cholesterol that hardens arteries.

Polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs) make up more than half the fat - about 7.4g per tablespoon - and are just as important for protecting the heart. Corn oil also carries small amounts of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, which your body cannot make on its own and needs for brain function, growth and reducing inflammation.

Naturally cholesterol-free and versatile, our Oleh corn oil is a neutral-tasting, high-smoke-point choice for everything from frying to baking.
